Yerba Mate cheaper alternative than coffee?

I'm experimenting with drinking Mate instead of coffee...  It is definitely cheaper at $15/Kg whereas coffee is $22/Kg even at wholesale. Problem is I just don't like the taste as much, BUT...  It also doesn't make me as jittery/crashy. Anyone else have experience making the switch? Any pointers?

Thanks, I think it's growing on me? Also figured out to use water that isn't quite boiling hot, that makes it less bitter.

I love yerba mate! My favorite is to blend yerba mate with mint tea, add honey and drink it iced. So delicious!  :)
