Converting a Self-Directed IRA
« on: June 13, 2023, 07:59:58 AM »
Has anyone converted their Self-Directed IRA back to a traditional/ROTH IRA?  I currently have a SDIRA with an LLC and checkbook control.  Within the SDIRA I have both a Roth component and a traditional IRA component.  I'm thinking about undoing this.  Between custodian fees and the hassle of filing a 1065 every year, it would be nice to consolidate back into a brokerage-based IRA account to simplify and save on fees.  Don't know how to go about this.  Any advice?

When moving funds from one brokerage to another, it is usually best to work with the receiving brokerage.  Give your brokerage of choice a call, explain what you would like to do, and they should be happy to help (and experienced with) moving your money.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
