Free VPN with Opera
« on: February 20, 2019, 04:06:05 PM »
I'd been wanting to set up a VPN but I didn't know which one was best, a good price, or even how to do it.  I just discovered the Opera browser includes a free VPN, so I clicked on the link and installed it.  It was a breeze, seems as fast or maybe even faster than Chrome was, and it's free.  :)

Thanks for passing this on. It looks like Opera has a browser for Android phones as well, any idea if VPN comes with that too? Couldn't find anything at first look.

Might want to be careful with this--everything I've read said that the browser version is more proxy than VPN.  May or may not matter depending on what you want to use it for.

Free VPN, eh?  Sounds like you might be getting what you pay for.

Why do you want a VPN, and what threats are you concerned about?

I like and have personally used PIA vpn for years, has Android a iPhone app and pc and Mac compatible, even have it on my firestick . It’s pretty reasonable, one rice and bean dinner a month pays for it :)

I use it in the office when our firewall blocks something. It works great. The mobile browser doesn't hate it built in unfortunately.
