Check craigslist for microwaves - you shouldn't pay more than $50 in my opinion. Not sure about the washer and dryer as I rent

I understand that those HE washers don't last very long. I think the best washer to get may be a commercial Speedqueen, but that wouldn't be cheap. I don't think dryers are as problematic.

My Speed Queen was around $800 and I had to get it from a local appliance store, not Lowe’s. So, more than I would have paid otherwise, but not madly extravagant. It’s very solid!
