Best site to sell and/or appraise stamps?

I've recently bought a lot of old stamps at an estate sale. A lot of them are worthless, but a few dozen appear to be from the 1890s. :) I did some googling, but while there are some sites that can help me identify stamps, there doesn't seem to be an authoritative site that lists actual market prices.

So, a 2-part question:
1. Is there a site that lists current market values on stamps from all over the world? (European as well as Asian, Russian and African stamps.)
2. Is there some sort of Amazon-like or eBay-like site where most collectors go to buy/sell their stamps?

My experience is with collectible hockey cards so it might be slightly different - but this is what I did to figure out what my cards were worth:

I went to local collectible stores and talked to the owners/attendants to get an idea of what everything was worth. These are the people who are familiar with the items that you have and can give you insight.

I started going to events/expos that showcased hockey cards and chatted with the vendors who were selling/trading cards.

Talking to the experts!

Google around and see if you find any common prices - I was told that checking ebay for "Recently sold" items in the category that you're looking for, is one of the best ways to find current market prices.

You know, having just spent several hours trying to hunt down individual stamps on google, I agree - I should probably go to experts. :) Just found a couple of established collectible stores that can appraise and sell it - since their fee is a percentage of the sale, I don't think they'd rip me off. (Some of them go to the 1850s! :^D )
