Gold leaf might not be the worst in this genre, but I always find it cheating to use gold and diamond rings etc in those settings. They market the taco as expensive, while it's actually part wrapping for whats actual expensive.

No one ever hawked their Worlds Most Expensive Ring Box, designed to make your eyes explode in visual ecstasy, with smooth red velvet, a diamond ring and the most perfectly fitted hinges you will ever have the pleasure to use.

Agreed Roe!

My interest is usually high when I see headlines for "Most Expensive ____," but I rarely, if ever, bother clicking on them because odds are that the dish is made expensive by use of diamonds, gold, or other insanely rich things that don't add to the dish. I would prefer instead to read about an insanely expensive burger because the beef, vegetables, patties, and cheese are all one of a kind and the best in the world (with fancy backstories for each).

$25,000 for some Civet droppings? No thank you.

It seems like these stunts are done to garner free publicity. Shock and awe.

Agreed.  This just makes me wonder how many $10k+ dog turds there have been in the world.  At least one:

I'm with you there, though I wouldn't mind getting a taste of that Kobe beef or the Beluga caviar.

Eat it? Sure.

Pay for it? No.

I do like watching "worth it" on YouTube. The middle option nearly always wins, but the cheap ones are usually pretty good looking. Of course I rarely even eat out for cheap food.

I love the "Worth it Buzzfeed" videos as well. I'm generally shocked at the cheap option, those are the ones that I would get. I will say though there have been several that I've wanted to go to all 3 of the places.

If the taco weighed at least 3 pounds and could feed at least 4 adults, I would buy it.

Haha, I think you might have missed the "K" at the end of that $25.  I know I did at first.
