They were so close!

Figured you find folks would appreciate the self-defeating dichotomy of this article.

Lol.. I love fake rich antimustachian people.. The kind that will pick up a $10k BMW 7-Series only to find running costs don't depreciate like the cars themselves, building up $10k in maintenance over two years..

Being fake rich is a good way to go broke.

It's similar with car safety; there are a number of exceptionally safe vehicles several years old that are also quite cheap compared to brand new ones. However, unless you're experienced under the hood, you pay for them over and over again through maintenance.

But the Ford Focus is on that list, and wasn't it one of MMM's recommended cars for the Mustache endowed?

So now I am thoroughly confused.

The anti-Mustachian shame and comedy is the expectation that you want to look rich.

Exactly. In particular, encouraging people to buy reasonable cars is great, except that telling them that "looking rich" is something that they should strive for will just going to undo any good that the car advice might create.

Yeah it's obviously an economy car. Of course that doesn't bother me, it seems to be a great car.

What does bother me is the name. The Fiestas of old were not only cheap but also of typical poor quality for a Detroit econo-box in those days. Why they would want to saddle a great modern design with that baggage is beyond me.

No doubt it is probably a great car, party is even in the name, but no one will get all impressed.

"Is that a fiesta! Wow, must have been a big bonus this year."

Lol, I believe it, I'm always cleaning smudges off my Focus from where women are throwing themselves at me.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
