I can't stop looking at this...

There's a really clever income generator. A website linking to things for sale and making fun of them. But also having affiliate links. People come to laugh and send their friends. But they also think some of the things are cute and buy some. And the website owner gets 5% or more of what they spend.

And indeed, they get a cut of any Amazon purchase within a certain time period, not just the specific linked item. I think. So you click over to look at the stupid oreo spoon, but remember you also need socks. I think the referral site still gets a cut of your socks purchase.

The Gentleman’s Ball Scratcher I already purchased and Millennium Falcon Bed is on order.

I actually have a set of the freezable soapstone cubes...they were a gift, but I admit they are quite handy for wanting to drink a nice cold scotch without the diluting effect of ice cubes

Yeah some of the stuff there is less ridiculous, but still unnecessary especially if you're trying to save money. I had fun looking through it, and I hope there's some mustachian person who is reaching FI through this website and its affiliate links hah.

I almost got out my credit card!

The random super-expensive stuff is amazing. There's a bunch of <$100 trinkets, and then boom, A FLYING CAR.
Seriously though, the transformers USB flash drive...
-
Am I the only one reminded of the SkyMall catalog looking at this website? There's some cool stuff, but 90% of it would be used once and shoved in a closet somewhere... except for the dolphin boat, my god...

I want the showerhead with colored lights. But it probably isn't low-flow.

so, uh, wall outlets with usb plug-ins? thanks a lot OP. brb.

Exactly! Some items are pretty cool and downright amusing, but there is no way I'd pay for any of it.

Haha that's how I see it too. Kinda reminds me of being a kid and wanting all the shiny toys, but then only playing with them a few times before getting bored.

I liked the biogel fridge the most, though I would be interested in finding how it is supposed to work.

Wowie just created my fake wishlist:
- offensive business cards,
- Tron cycle, ok it'd be fun to try then auction off to charity.
- bike wheel lights,
- world's most powerful laser,
- brass knuckle tasers,
- go to fuck to sleep book,
- offensive fortune cookies,
- driving message display,
- batmobile replica,
these are all calling out to me!
-
Actually I'll be buying the Titanic ice cubes for my Dad for christmas.

We got Go the Fuck to Sleep from my sister in law when our son was born...it is quite hilarious.

That actually might be awesome for hotels, at least I would have thought so until I realized that I can just use the room's TV for this. I should add that it is on me not to bring a wall adapter, but at least once the cord has broken.

I just don't see the utility because it's not really any harder to take the tiny adapter with you. If I forget my adapter, I definitely forgot the cable too. You can't be sure wherever you are going will have one of these, so you need to take the adapter anyways. Once you get there, you don't need the adapter, but you brought it. If you disconnect the cable from the adapter to use this outlet, you are more likely to forget the adapter.
For the rest of the stuff... yeah lots of cool things. It's kind of like a bloggified version of ThinkGeek. I also like Uncrate for looking at a bunch of fancy stuff I shouldn't purchase. And SkyMall!

Oh I definitely covet some of these. I see the utility here. Not at hotels but at home. Specifically for next to my bed, where I have 1 standard outlet. I'm constantly juggling plugs. However I'm not going to buy them since the juggling has to do with the job.
-
I'm pretty sure those are less than $27.99 at Home Depot. I've thought about installing one in a spot where the old outlet needs replacing anyway. Then maybe we'd charge our phones there instead of leaving them on the kitchen counter within the danger zone of the stove.

The Star Wars family car stickers are a must.

Note that these will draw power even when not used (like any other wall wart, for example)

Except I would never, ever plug my phone, with all my personal and financial information, into an unknown USB outlet at a hotel! That's just asking for trouble. And never use the USB plugs at airports either. Not until someone invents a USB condom.

This is why you're broke: http://int3.cc/collections/frontpage/products/usbcondoms
(although modern phones now ask whether you "trust" a new computer... at least my iphone does)

Not until someone invents a USB condom.
I think that's not only been done, but I'd bet the product is actually named that too.
(But I'm not going to google it since I'm at work.)

yeah..me neither.
I did see a tutorial where you cut the data transfer wires in the USB cables, so it will charge only. That would make these safe, ish. A USB vasectomy?
The "trusted computer" thing was added to iOS after a flaw was discovered (phone would dump data). But I don't trust that someone can't work around it.

Stop getting hit by cars and trucks while you foolishly decide to ride a bike on poorly lit roads, now you can create your own visible bike lane with this clever bike lane laser light that easily attaches to any bicycle and projects a safe perimeter for drivers to see.

OK, I need to leave this thread and never click on it again now. I actually double-checked what my spending for the month is when I saw they make USB power outlets now.

So. I actually put an item from theworstthingsforsale.com in my Amazon cart. I can't bring myself to buy it, but I can't bring myself to delete it from my saved items list.

They have pretty much everything with USB in it now, I was at home depot the other day and not only did they have power outlets but they had surge protectors, regular power strips, etc, etc, etc. I'm pretty sure that they had ones that sing you to sleep and massage your back because they were like $150.

The vampire load would be very antimustachian, plus how much longer do you think the current USB connector will stick around? I'm predicting a big push for the new reversible type-C (http://www.pcworld.com/article/2686892/reversible-usb-type-c-wonder-cable-will-deliver-displayport-audio-and-video-too.html)

Never MMM approved to buy cheap knockoffs that don't perform anything like advertised, while trying to profit from the reputation of a genuine product.
Also, never buy anything from amazon without reading the reviews. They usually tell you when someone is selling counterfeit goods, and amazon is FULL of counterfeit goods.

Not even the Curved 4K Ultra HD LED TV for $7997.99? I love the description:
"Blow your kid’s college fund on an exciting new technology that is bound to cost 1/10th the price 6 months from now with the curved 4K Ultra HD LED TV. After all, who needs an education that lasts a lifetime when you can watch HD programming all day long?"

The exact USB connector type doesn't matter; most of these outlets are already used to charge devices with micro-USB ports. As long as there is a USB A to Micro-USB C cable available, it will still work.

My way but your new devices will just come with the type-c. Your gonna go out and buy specialty cables just so you don't have to plug in a wall wart? It's not like the 1 inch cube USB wall wart is hard to carry, and you already have to carry the cable. There just so little upside
