I just saw this story on the OWN network, along with an update.  (I'm at a hotel with cable for work) and she was bragging about how she makes her own coffee now, like she's some kind of superstar.

I read the case studies on the link. I felt bad for everyone, they seem confused, stressed and overwhelmed.

Hopefully they can all get back on track.

I concur. I only got to the fourth page of the story but I'm hoping, somewhere along the line, she considers getting some form of therapy. You can tell she has some emotional issues she hasn't quite worked through and shopping may be her regular dopamine fix. Before I was diagnosed with Cyclothymia, I could drop a pretty amount of coin in a Barnes and Noble just looking for the rush I got from buying things.

Now that my emotions are under control, I don't need that rush anymore. I think they can get on track with some honest self-reflection, some family and indivudal counseling, and a lot of hard work.

Oh, hell. Suze Orman told them to move to Seattle to escape their spending habits. That's my town, yo. Suze, c'mon, why ya gotta be like that?

I had to stop reading when she started talking about her lack of health insurance for her kids and their health problems. That went from the ludicrous to the tragic quickly.
