Start a personal loan with a photo

An even quicker way to get into debt.

PicStarter, it lets you start a personal loan application with just a pic

This just seems very irresponsible to me. I know they have to still go through the loan application and credit checks but still

What's the sociological term for "Oh, shiny!" ?  This company just figured out a way to more easily monetize that concept. I wonder what they'd say if someone sent in a pic of the candy at the checkout aisle?

Quick: someone snap a photo of a prominent politician and use it to start a loan...

Just a new way of generating contact leads. Instead of collecting your email address, they collect your cell phone number instead. . . .

Wow, I guess they're targeting millennials and gen Y. People that probably have no debt or very little. Making it seem like getting a loan is "cool" just like taking selfies on snapchat, I suppose.

I'd actually argue that Millennials/Gen Y have TONS of debt, its just all student loans.

This is just a way to get us to start with consumer debt.

Holy shitballs!!  If someone could figure out how to put that sort of click thing under stuff on Pinterest, they'd really have a gold mine.

Honestly, I came here expecting to read about loans with the collateral being nude photos of the person borrowing money.

Really? That's another kind of site.

So...anyone got the URL there?

It was a thing in China for a while, probably still is. It was a debated urban legend until a bunch of the photos leaked last year.

^wow.. but nothing is really surprising these days.

Read somewhere the average consumer is exposed to 3,000 advertising hits a day to buy things. Sure over the years that number will keep going up. And the more clever they get the better results and easier to pitch i am sure.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
