Title: Starbucks in Oslo gets abysmal review in Norway's largest newspaper
Post by: stigto on April 10, 2012, 12:38:50 PM
Just one more reason to make good coffee at home instead. Mind the machine translation.

Reading that made me want to visit Oslo to try the coffee.  Just not at Starbucks.

I finally signed up for this community, so I'll respond to this old thread.

That was actually an excellent machine translation!  Here are three fixes for anybody who wants to read it fully:

<<proevesup>> = test sip
<<udelikat>>     = "undelicious", i. e., tasteless.  Not "indelicate!"
<<veldig>>        = hugely, extremely

And 27 crowns for a regular coffee is $4.50 US, which is about normal in Norway.

They should come to Seattle and taste real coffee (hint: it's not at starbucks).

Sticker shock = treating your hosts to java in Wegas...or anywhere in Switzerland, for that matter...

It wasn't so much the price of coffee in Switzerland that shocked me, it was the fact that a cup contains about two swallows.  Not nearly enough to provide its normal life-support functions.

If you make it properly it is.
