I honestly feel bad for the children.

On one hand, it doesn't sound as though they're breaking their budget. Seven weeks of having the kid(s) out of sight and out of mind sounds pretty good.

On the other hand, extreme overindulgence is very likely to turn the kids into complete snowflakes who are incapable of caring for themselves.

Kargman says two parents offered her and her husband a ride home on their jet after last year’s visiting day.

“I was like, ‘Well, we have our car so that doesn’t work.’ And she says, ‘Send your people for it.’

“I’m like, ‘I don’t have people.’”

Is this real life?

LOL! Summer camp for me was the gift of sleeping in, then working a long list of chores that was made to keep me busy for a full day until Mom came home from work around 3.

But, let's be real, the percentage of kids going to these ridiculous camps getting this ridiculous treatment is what, .0000001%? I think we should continue to encourage the rich to stimulate the economy of upstate New York and rural New England.

I was a camp counselor at an all-girls camp for one summer during college and this article is accurate, sadly.  It was a horrible summer of entitled little shits who had never been told "no" and tortured each other in the worst versions of mean girls I've ever seen.  Their parents on family day were even worse.

Conspicuous consumption, oddly enough, *can* be an effective form of wealth transfer from the have-a-lots to everyone else. Especially when it requires somebody's labor.
