Really good satire often provides an unexpected vantage point from which we can spot the truth.

Given how some people I know approach financial planning, that seems like it would actually be good advice. It's sad sometimes.

Sure, that sounds good in theory, but what would you DO all day?
Maybe managing a wish granting creature is a full time job? Otherwise, you're right, it's a fast road to boredom and an unfilled life.

Thanks a bunch... that link sent me down a rabbit hole of Onion articles about money, almost all of which sounded like they'd been written by Mustachians!

Oh, come on.  That's just superstitious nonsense.

Everyone knows that proper retirement planning involves playing the lottery religiously, because those lucky numbers aren't lucky for nothing!

Either you win or you lose. It's a 50/50 shot!

Hah, awesome.  Love The Onion's take on financial stuff.
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

I'd totally give away my first born child for the financial services of the Magical creature!
