The other day I was in the waiting room at the doctor's office thumbing through some of those silly women's magazines that look like 200+ page print ads. One of the lead articles was about "self-purchasing women." It equated women buying themselves gifts with female empowerment. For more comic relief, I googled the term and came across this article from the International Diamond Exchange Magazine:
