I don't even have a problem with putting nail polish on dogs. Yeah, it's kinda silly, but if you want to do silly things with your pets, who cares. I doubt the dog minds. But paying for it? When you could get nail polish for $1 at the dollar store and do it yourself?
Surely buying pedicures and aromatherapy for dogs is a good indication that you have more money than you know what to do with, and probably should be paying higher taxes.

I think regular nail polish is somewhat toxic to dogs. Although the only reason for it is if you a little girl playing dress up with your dog.

Good point. Google tells me you CAN buy special dog nail polish. If that's meaningful to you.

That said, I adore my dogs and spend more on their food and personal care than I do on my own, but I don't consider manicures and a monthly gift box of "goodies" to be any real version of love.
Brushing my cantankerous and aggressive rescue dog's teeth daily, that's love.

Some dogs do need their claws clipped - it's not a frivolous expense, though you can do it yourself at home. I'm not sure if the "pedicure" means anything more than just that. The rest of the stuff looks completely frivolous.

Yes the "Pawicure" is just basic good grooming. I did all that for my dog every week - well I didn't need to trim fur every week, but I clipped nails every week. It's years since I paid for nail trimming, and at that point it was $6 where we did our agility training.

Yeah, I don't think anyone in this thread is questioning basic paw maintenance.
The ad clearly shows nail polish and aromatherapy, so obviously there's enough of a market to support it, which is pretty whacky.

Unless the "aroma" of the aromatherapy is the smell of bacon frying, it's not a good idea. Essential oils are toxic to dogs.

Our dog's nails always seem fine, not too sharp or overgrown, i think its because she walks on concrete pretty often [?]
Oh- no - BArkBox - yeah me and mom got into it over that subscription for her dog.. This is from a lady who said, "she couldn't afford garbage service so was reduced to putting her garbage into public cans" ... When i heard that , immediatley questioned how she could afford the 'Barkbox' subscription. Priorities / Craziness ??

In my opinion, having owned a few dogs, purebred and rescue, the only "luxury" dogs need are their owners' time. Daily walks. So few dogs get them. My dog gets a walk every morning, rain or shine, or snow, even polar vortex. We don't buy her toys. I got a few from the rescue group when we adopted her. She rarely plays with them, so they're holding up well.

Missy's favorite toy was her dog frisbee. She loved trying to catch it and chasing after it and bringing it back to me. Great exercise, she needed more than just a few walks every day. Everything else - meh. Except stuffed toys, which she was really really good at eviscerating, which is why she never got given any after the first 2 died.

Why do we want to punish success like that? Dog pedicures provide more happiness for the owner and a direct job for the canine nail technician than whatever general fund program higher taxes would fulfill. And besides, the nail technicians will be paying taxes on their income as well.
The government gets a big enough cut as it is.
