A recent one I noticed is a Ford F-150 commercial that goes something like "if you're trying to decide what kind of truck to get, just look over the fence at any construction site. There's your answer, the F-150."
There are SO many logical flaws with this argument that it makes my head spin! I never see F-150s at construction sites, I see CONSTRUCTION equipment (bulldozers, dump trucks, cranes, backhoes, etc)! Even if I did, the logic suggests if I'm a real man I should be driving whatever is being used in support of MAKING A BUILDING? If I don't work in the construction industry (and the audience doesn't because the ad explicitly says to "look over the fence") how does that have any bearing on MY needs for a vehicle?
But okay, Ford, I'll take your advice. I'm driving a bulldozer to work from now on. Oh yeah, baby, and it was no money down!
