« on: August 26, 2015, 03:59:14 PM »
I think this 6 wheel Merc g wagon takes the title.
$500,000 price
Twin turbo 5.5 litre v8
536bhp
Over 8,000lbs in weight

Don't think MMM would be a fan !

... well in less than a year these will start rolling off the Oshkosh assembly line for the US military.  Given the history of the Jeep and then the Humvee, I give it just a couple of years before a commercial version becomes available and we find these in the elementary-school pickup lines.

Wow, that looks as good as the G-Wagon.   But it's only a 4x4, not a 6x6.   How much does it cost the army?

$6.7B contract to make 17,000 for the army, meaning the per-unit cost will be $394,000 if I did my math right.  But that included all the R&D.  I think I read somewhere that once in production they will cost $55,000 to manufacture.

I think Top Gear tested that Mercedes truck, or something very similar.
