Well this is a bit embarrassing for budget writer to post...paying $150 a month for TV/Internet and another $150 a month for Phone?

Always a good idea to pay $27 a month for an emergency land line in case your unlimited everything cell phone stops working during a zombie apocalypse. Especially when that is completely separate from your tv & internet provider and doesn't get you a bundle discount that offsets the land line cost. I see no room for improvement.

+1
And it's too bad that there aren't any cell phone services that provide unlimited everything for less than $130. What a shame...

Yea, kind of ridiculous for a budget writer. And seriously,
the auto insurance, cable, phone, everything she listed only takes a couple minutes each to get new quotes on or even setup. Change phone providers Monday, no big deal. Changed auto, rental home, and renters insurance yesterday, easy-peasy. Ok, cancelling cable takes a little bit of time on the phone but even still, for $145, 30 minutes of phone call is pretty good pay.

You're not the target audience. The target audience is spending $200 for TV/internet and $200 for phones and is excited that someone's shown them a way to cut expenses down 25%.
You think you're going to reach Joe Spenditall by telling him to live like a hermit? How to cut 90%? No. You're going to reach him by showing him how to cut 5% there, 10% there, 20% there... without any noticeable reduction in "fun" or "quality of life" or whatever.

I'm not the target audience here, either (no cable, $41 for two phones), but man, I can be reached by finding out how to cut 5%! Get to 10% or 20% and I'm excited! Then again, I'm not actually disagreeing with you!
