bike graveyard
« on: September 02, 2013, 01:01:45 AM »
Ive started cycling to my new job, inspired by MMM, doing it now about 5 weeks and loving it, not as complicated as I thought it would be in terms of feeling sweaty and having to bring clothes for a business casual environment etc.

Anyhow we have a bike cage at work which is great security but I realised after about a week that everyday the bikes are in the same position Ive seen them in every day, for the last 5 weeks. Its a bike graveyard not a bike cage! All these bikes are in good condition, good brands, better than mine but nobody seems to use them. Im wondering who owns them and what are they doing idle in this cage? Such a shame, looks like noone even takes them out at the weekend..

I have the opposite situation at work.  There are 8 or so bike racks outside of the Pentagon Athletic Center that are filled to capacity each day.  The only thing left at the end of the day are bike locks.  Pretty motivating sight!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
