I live in a teeny tiny town in farm country, with a teeny tiny carryout. About 10 years ago a guy bought a ticket for himself and a bunch of coworkers. I went to school with his wife, and his in laws live between my house and the store. It was big news!

Then, a few years later, they won again. I do not know if it was the same people, but both times the tickets had substantial wins, like a couple of million/year for each ticket owner.

I've noticed the in laws have done some improvement to the outside if their home. I don't know if it had anything to do with their daughter's money.
Sadly, a couple of years later, the guy committed suicide.

I read a while back that the odds of knowing a lottery winner were actually pretty high.  This just reinforces people's belief that they can win.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
