The first article is a totally biased opinion piece.

The second seems to show Canadian dealers and banks pointing the finger at each other. If one (or both) lied to the customer, fine or jail them. Regardless, I have little sympathy for someone that signs up for a 30% interest loan stretched out over several years. I don't care what the sales pitch was or the reason why the customer thinks wasnecessary to buy the collateral.

+1  some responsibility has to be in that of the consumer.... regardless of what was said.
