Espresso on the go
« on: May 07, 2013, 12:59:48 PM »
In case you can't get the link to work (or it makes you sign up for their list-which I did so I could get this gem to put on here), the text of the ad is as follows:

"Handpresso
Espresso from the Driver's Seat
Handpresso has revolutionized the portability of coffee—this brand specializes in simple, mobile espresso makers that go with you. This sale features the ever-popular Handpresso Auto which makes dreamy, delicious espresso from the comfort of your cup holder. Hit the road with your favorite shot of caffeine with this easy tool."

Its essentially a single shot espresso maker that plugs into the cigarette lighter thing in your car, so you can make espresso on your commute to work.  I won't lie, a tiny pre-mustachian part of my brain thought this was pretty nifty.  Then I thought about all antimustachian concepts it espouses and punched myself in the face.

Its on sale for only $169.99 (regularly $199.99).

Off to get another free cup from our kitchen at work :)

I dunno...  In a way, it seems almost mustachian, if you figure its cost against the time & expense of going through the Star$$ drivethrough every day.

I suppose so, if you're on the $5 a day coffee habit with a long commute.  What I'm learning is that there are shades of mustachianism, and the more I find places to cut back, my mindset changes a little more and I can find a few more places.  So you are correct, this could be a mustachian step towards cheaper coffee, which may eventually lead to less driving and more biking, eliminating the need for the device in the first place.  It might be a mustachian $170 in that sense.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
