Government sues Art Institutes

Interesting article on the government's suit against a chain of for-profit art schools.  I think some of these places, and some of the places that focus on military students, are much more in it for the bucks than they are to provide education.

But his instructors, he hastens to add, "Were the best thing that ever happened to me in terms of my life as an artist and my growth as a creative person." Students get out of it what they put in, he says.

This was my experience of for-profit colleges. The 10-20% who are passionate about the subject do great, and learn what they need to succeed, A further 20% will learn enough to get an entry level job, the remaining 60-70% are just racking up debt.

The main shock is their recruitment practices, and excessive fees.
