What would you do with 8.87kg of gold?

Evidently the answer is to put it in a box and use it for a wicket (the thing in the game of cricket that is used to get a player out) - http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-12-16/maitland-bar-gold-nugget-goes-on-display-australian-museum/7033902

Haha, what a great story. I'd have traded them my tomatoe box wicket for that. It's a lot lighter so it would be easier to carry around ;)

What would I do with a bunch of gold?  Probably hide it in a safe, hire a bunch of henchmen and nuke Fort Knox.  Evil plan complete!

I think Warren Buffett said it best

"I will say this about gold. If you took all the gold in the world, it would roughly make a cube 67 feet on a side…Now for that same cube of gold, it would be worth at today's market prices about $7 trillion – that's probably about a third of the value of all the stocks in the United States…For $7 trillion…you could have all the farmland in the United States, you could have about seven Exxon Mobils (NYSE:XOM) and you could have a trillion dollars of walking-around money…And if you offered me the choice of looking at some 67 foot cube of gold and looking at it all day, and you know me touching it and fondling it occasionally…Call me crazy, but I'll take the farmland and the Exxon Mobils."

Oooh that's an evil idea, have a monopoly on US crops, jack up the prices! Same for the oil companies. What you are not going to eat, drive anymore? Didn't think so (insert evil laugh here).

Just 8.87kg?  I hear they make a great door stop...I actually know someone who used a gold bar as a door stop.

Okay - I'd either be mortgage free and be the owner of a much nicer piece of land/house/shop or retire and knock around the garage on build antique cars as a side gig.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
