A crappy situation, but I honestly find it hard to feel sorry for the person mentioned in the first few paragraphs.  She was living a lavish lifestyle of room service and fancy clothes, but lost that lifestyle.

What do you all think?

The direct cause of her problem was the price of the stock she owned dropped off a cliff. In that regard, I just feel sorry for her. The fact that somebody that lived and worked in top positions in Silicone Valley didn't have a net worth of more than $200k is what was really surprising. It's obvious that she spent all her money without regard to the future. Furthermore, why doesn't she, with the experience she has, move someplace cheaper and find a good job. Surely she can. Unless the alcohol and depression have messed her up. In which case she just needs help, not a shelter.

Perhaps they would have been better off in a different part of the country, or at least in a town that didn't have so many seemingly overnight millionaires and billionaires.  Hopefully they learned from their mistakes and can move forward.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
