I am proud to announce that yesterday I was witness to the dumbest clown car behavior ever... I was biking back home from work and had to stop because of an important phone call. While stopped on the sidewalk I saw an older women, probably in her early 60s, walk to her car and drive to the supermarket right across the street. Five minutes later she gets back into her car to drive across the street again. Only this time her previous parking spot was taken and she had to park further away from her apartment than before. That second parking spot was further away from her apartment than the supermarket!
To illustrate this madness: initially, she had her car parked at (A), drove across the street to park her car at (B), which is literally 10m away from (A), then back to park her car at (C) and walk back to the apartment building right across (A). I am still utterly dumbfounded...

Thanks for the chuckle. That's ridiculous.

Wow - thanks for sharing. The only possible defense I could think of was that she has a medical condition that makes walking difficult / painful / whatever. But of course that's no defense if she ended up walking more steps A-B-C than walking A-B-A would have been. Yikes.

Sheesh, did she at least load/unload the groceries door to door?
-
In all fairness, the bottled water she purchased was probably pretty heavy.... ;-)

My favorite part of this is the name of the street - Einsteinstrasse.

Oh, got that beat. Big diesel pickup (I think F250) sitting in the parking lot, engine running but nobody in it.

Shows what happens with habits. Why we should all be careful of doing stuff on auto pilot.

I didn't even see any bags or groceries, she probably just bought cigarettes or something else that fits in her handbag...

You see, walking across the street is just not safe in Germany...
