Consumerism! A (short) Musical
« on: August 12, 2014, 11:51:04 PM »
Stumbled on this five-minute short from a small indie film company and had been meaning to post it here for a while.

Video's linked in their webpage. Perhaps best of all, this was released in '06... I'm not much of a musical theater geek, but a couple of lines had me howling. Enjoy!

That was priceless - I particularly enjoyed the dime as a downpayment.

Glad somebody liked it. It gets repetitive in a very musical-theater way toward the end but the actual writing is often great. The line that set me off like a hyena starts:
"I got a seven hundred something on my credit score, which means I don't own a thing..."

My favorite part was when he bought a $700 samurai sword that was 10% off...and forgot to pay rent haha! It's funny because it's true :-(
