Clown Car Commute
« on: December 16, 2014, 01:28:08 PM »
These stories are about the mayhem that this Waze app are doing to neighborhood traffic, but the money clown car LA commute was this gem:

Quote
Longtime resident Joann Killeen said her four-mile commute to UCLA, where she teaches a public relations class, can take two hours during rush hour. "The streets on the west side are no longer a secret for locals, and people are angry," she said.

Another version of the same article without the clown car commute quote:

OK - the stupid, it burns.  4 miles, in two hours?  Really?  That's a nice slow walking pace.

What is it about large cities (cough, cough - LA, NYC to pick on two) that engenders local forms of money foolishness?  The clown car culture of, plastic surgery billboards, etc of LA and the going out to eat / tiny over priced apartments / clothing of NYC.....I just don't get it.

Meh....

Maybe the UCLA professor is disabled . . . or needs to haul in a different class set of dead-tree textbooks each day? ;)

Surely four miles in two hours is a gross exaggeration?

I'd sooner drag myself hand over hand than push pedals in a car at that pace.

Me too, and that's not even considering the financial aspect of it.  Truly mind blowing.

If you can't read a map or are directionally challenged, don't use a mapping app. If you can't do simple time = distance/speed math, you're lacking cranium components.
