How could you possibly deliver a freaky fast sandwich without a huge motor and AWD?

I mean, it's Jimmy John's!

Perhaps the wealthy franchise owner also delivers sandwhiches? Or an early retiree working part-time at a job they love?

Huge motor?  It's a 2.0L 4cyl. (No 3.0T badge on the fender).

No wonder delivery drivers are getting robbed so frequently.

+1, the first thing I thought was that it probably belonged to the owner.

Or someone's parents.

Or someone who had a high-rolling job and then got laid off but needs to make some cash while looking for something else.

But could just be a kid who got excited about being able to get credit and made an expensive mistake. That car will set him back about 100 sandwiches a month.

But to be fair, I bought an Audi when I was 19.  It cost $2,000 and had 75,000 miles.  I drove it for three years and added over 100,000 miles :)  I got my money out of that car and it was very nice to drive.  :)

Ugh.  Combine one of the cars I regularly see making terrible driving mistakes with one of the professions where I regularly see drivers making terrible mistakes.  Mark my words, this delivery vehicle will not have a happy retirement.

Not sure how it works in the US but over here in the UK company cars which carry corporate advertising come with pretty generous tax breaks. Ok not the most mustachian choice of vehicle but I'm going with a pretty tax savvy business owner

The sign, the delivery mileage and a share of the car's maintenance costs can be claimed as business expenses at tax time in the U.S.  But I'm not sure that qualifies as "generous."

Around here, Jimmy John's actually delivers by bicycle!

(It's notable because, as far as I know, it's the only place that does.)

It's the same way in Pittsburgh too.

Considering how hilly Pittsburgh apparently is, being a Pittsburgh Jimmy John's bike delivery guy in winter might be one of the most badass jobs out there!

I have a customer that purchases from me daily for his business. The distance between
us is 225 yds and is all of a 2 minute 15 second walk.  Small, item easy to carry.

He drives his Hummer.

Less than a gallon of gas. Not too bad.

I saw a JJ's driver with a very nice, fairly new BMW 3-series. In our part of town, most likely parents trying to instill a work ethic....

Let's not hate too much...I'm not an expert so I can't tell which engine this car has or what year it is...but CraigsList produces some decent looking Audis for relatively cheap:

https://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/cto/5558959251.html - $10,700
https://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/cto/5565330947.html - $6,500
https://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/cto/5567222733.html - $8,995

Not totally mustachian but possibly not as bad as it seems either...

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
