My parents take care of my grandpa and he lives at their house. They have part-time care takers come and assist with things for a few hours here and there while my parents are at work. One of the care takers insisted they turn on the A/C because she was hot. Grandpa wears sweaters during the summer.
I get that people should be comfortable at work, but I think it's pretty high maintenance to suggest others spend money to change the temperature to your liking when you are at their home. Guess I wouldn't think much of it if she had asked rather than insisted.

Just get a new caretaker. She is not compatible with your grandpa's needs. He is health / welfare / happiness is the priority.

She probably won't be back. This private company has a certain number of hours authorized through some government funds since Grandpa is a veteran, which are almost used up, and they usually send a different person. I just posted cuz I thought it was funny.

I can understand that in some instances. The owner of my school is very very cheap (not frugal) and hates to turn on the A/C. I insist that it is turned on in the summer. When it is 35C with 20 people in a small room, the fan doesnt do it. So I can see if the house is unbearably hot and she asks for it to be turned on. If it is just a little warm I can see how this seems like a ridiculous request. In the end it is the employers decision, but I think she is not out of line to request that.
