Maybe it would have been cheaper (and less stressful) if they had just divided the assets in 2?

Reading between the lines, some of that time and money would have been better spent in therapy to work through her emotions.

Nice.  We were on a big divorce case where the couple spent over $2m (us) on attorney fees collectively.  That's chump change compared to this one.
