Antimustachian Madness
« on: November 06, 2012, 12:24:44 PM »
The Daily Mail has a columnist who is a rich source of how not to do things...

I came across the first article some time ago, but then lost the reference.  However, it is now found:

http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/mortgageshome/article-2105240/Stuck-rent-trap-How-middle-class-family-kept-remortgaging-home-pay-bills-longer-afford-repayments.html

Other articles by the same woman are mind-boggling as well:

http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/femail/article-2012483/I-survive-live-housekeeper.html

http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/femail/article-1332846/Take-girls-private-school-Id-starve.html

http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/femail/article-2228436/Shona-Sibary--108-345--staggering-sum-Ive-spent-nurseries-string-useless-au-pairs.html

With the money that has just evaporated away they could have been retired for some time.  Of course, she'd have to write about something else other than how badly off they are...

Leave it to the Daily Mail. Who knows what they were spending all that money on? They are only paying the live in housekeeper 9360 pounds a year!

Social climber who likes to rationalize, rather than financially savvy.

Some of her posts are amazing, truly amazing.
Two kids in fancy private schools, but a third one in public school is being bullied. Boy, will he resent his parents when he grows up for spending all the money and the other two, and letting him take the hit for it.

Also, revealing that they have a pay that puts them in the 10 % highest wage earners, and still loose their house. Then bragging about spending a boatload of cash on maids and au pairs.... Whilst complaining about not getting enough child support from the government.

Oh, I think I got a head ache from reading the stupidity from this woman.

Here's another one!

http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/femail/article-2229461/Were-middle-class-successful--poor-church-mice.html

After all their (high) 'fixed' expenditure they still have over £19k spare.  And they're not paying the captial off on their mortgage.  That's not poor, that's just ... careless?

I skimmed the articles, just ridiculous. Sounds like the same pity-party folks who over-leveraged here in the US.
