I noticed that back when I was in 7th grade, and my bike commute took me past a gym.

The worst part is, once they drive there, they go inside and pay money to walk on a treadmill!  In good weather!!

Sounds like maybe there's a market for a product that allows you to work out in your car. Huge rubber bands with handles might do the trick. Bonus for exercises that require a sunroof.

The Flintstones really were on to something, weren't they? :)

Don't forget Brazil's Bike Bus:

Now you can enjoy the scenery and cover some distance while riding a bike!

That would be mega-awesome if the bikes POWERED the bus.

But then the trainer would have to pedal backwards.

I will admit that I drive to the gym 2x a week to ride a bike or walk on a treadmill.  Or swim in a pool (do I get a pass for that one?)

But the only time I really have to work out on those 2 days is at 5:30 am, and it's dark out.  I don't feel safe walking outside in the dark at 5:30 am, for many reasons.

I walk to do my errands on the weekend though.

Well, just to make you feel better, I'll admit we've been driving to the gym too.
:-o

I always use the equipment I don't have at home, and usually take a group class as well (I can't motivate myself to do high intensity aerobics for more than a couple minutes otherwise)

I was working out with my free weights at home, but my SO found she couldn't get in a good workout with all the distractions available at home, and we were able to get a joint membership for $60 a month (no contract).
I bike there sometimes, but she won't because she says the hill (its a big hill) hurts her knee.  So, if shes driving anyway, I may as well go with her.

Reminds me of the ultra high end gym in our town that boasts valet parking!  Some friends were invited to join so they rode their bikes over to take a look.  The valet was clueless about what do with the bikes while they were given "the tour" (really "the pitch").

I had to check twitter to see how common this was.    Turns out lots of tweets about it.   My personal favorite from 5 hours ago

There's something warped about being stuck in traffic on the way to gym. Like I should have run there.I'll think about it in the lift.

This is a joke I always tell people:

Why do people try to find the closest spot in a gym parking lot??
