The world strains to spend;
financial independence
gives peaceful freedom.

A simple lifestyle,
a cool breeze on a hot day,
sublimely pleasant.

There once was a man from Nantucket...
He was burdened by buying a new rust bucket
He got off of his ass
and reduced his consumption of gas
Now he no longer feels like a consumer puppet.

Sorry, my OCD tendencies were twitching. Still doesn't scan well but it's the best I could do.

There once was a man from Leeds,
Cried, "O'er income, my want exceeds!"
Mr. Mustache
Did save him some cash;
He told him to meet just his needs.

I saw Hippopotamus and thought Hippocampus... both involved in the production of memory funny enough.

Who says a limerick can't be a haiku? And before you get into structure and the like - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWdd6_ZxX8c

I thought the same, but we can run with it.

Here's a Mustachian limerick:

There was an old man
from Peru whose lim’ricks all
look’d like haiku. He

said with a laugh: I'll
cut them in half, the pay is
much better for two.

Hippopotamus.

Haikus can be fun
but sometimes they don't make sense.
