"Perfect timing to weed out the old and invest in the new."

So bras are an investment now? Maybe if you wear a nice bra you'll get a rich sugar daddy.. I can't see how else that would work

I'm far from averse to actual spending-to-save (like say, buying a new X appliance for $Y to save $Z per year on electricity) but this is just silly.

1. Instead of buying actual groceries, buy snacky bullshit food that nobody needs, but buy a shitload in bulk to "save money."
2. Buy bras that are ostensibly on sale.
3. Cook at home on Feb 14, BUT GO OUT TO EAT ANYWAY THE NEXT DAY.
4. Spend $35 at the movies.
5. Buy bullshit "on sale" for Presidents Day.
6. Do your fucking taxes.  Since that's some kind of novelty.

I find most of these articles to be useless. They always recommend "cutting out that latte" (I've never even HAD a latte), brown-bagging your lunch (been doing it for years--I can count on one hand the lunches out I have per year), buying generics (yeah, I do). Sigh...

6 things that are probably on sale this week, but you can probably do without anyways. FTFY.

Definitely not an investment. But you can definitely tell the difference between the good and bad, so a sale could be a good thing. It's not like there is a market for second hand bras :)

For the big chested women amongst us you can consider them an investment. Good bras can prevent back pain resulting in a need for physiotherapy and other expensive treatment. Strong back muscles are even more important though.

Be Mr. Romance and do your partners taxes! C'mon ladies, do you want me to get you flowers or a tax refund?

Cook at home and file this Valentines day. Nothing says sexy like fiscal responsibility...

Good Point and totally agree, someone once told me don't skimp on two things, good bras and good shoes (not like heels, etc, but quality/comfortable/supportive shoes)

Change a couple words and that would actually make a pretty good advertisement.

If you have small boobs, you can wear any old $5 bra. If you have big boobs, however, a certain amount of engineering is required! And that costs money - more material used, of a quality that doesn't stretch after one wearing, and over sewing techniques used to create specific areas of strength, which equals more hours to manufacture. It's cheaper to buy a couple of very good quality, generally expensive, bras than buy multiple very cheap and ineffective bras!

Decent bras are definitely an investment - hell, watch how quick a big breasted woman who doesn't wear a bra to work gets fired for sexually harassing her workmates!

yeah, I went back to my favorite brand earlier this year and while I did buy them on sale, they were still ridiculously expensive (for me).  Worth it to me and happy to buy pretty much everything else at the thrift store.

Guess I'm lucky mine aren't that big, I never wear them anymore but so far no issues at work. So freeing! And so many savings.

Yep. They recently made a change on that front, but not sure if all articles are paid for now. This article is about the change and also mentioned that they had 100,000 unpaid contributors since 2005: https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/18/farewell-unpaid-blogger-huffpost-drops-free-contributor-platform-that-drove-its-growth/

Ok, that might have been a slight exaggeration, but you really can't do without a bra if you have big boobs. Preferably one with some serious cantilever engineering. Things get pornographic very quickly if they're just wobbling about on their own, and it's not at all a good look for a professional environment. A fair bit of dressing with large boobs is trying to hit that point between matronly and porn star, and a good supportive, movement reducing and nipple covering bra is the basis of that.

This is what the whole concept of Black Friday and other discount occasions are about. "This is on sale! Therefore you need to buy many of them now!", even if it was something you didn't need in the first place.

I agree on good bras being important. You should buy them on sale for half the price or lower, regardless of which color is on sale, as long as it fits well.

Thank <insert your chosen deity> for thoughtful conversation 'bout this stuff. Nice to know everyone in the world isn't just blindly going through the motions of consumer life.

My mother in law is this way with second hand stores. Her house is full of stuff that she paid pennies for because she might find a use for it "someday."  DW and I are almost to this point when it comes to yard sales.  Every weekend we drive past a sign on the road advertising one, think about stopping by, but then ask ourselves "do we actually need anything?"  The last time we visited one my son ended up with a free toy because they were packing up and just giving things away.

Not just pronographic, also just very uncomfortable. I never understood people saying how they were happy to take off their bras after they got home from work.

Safety.

Some people drive older model vehicles lacking adequate airbags.
