I actually think this is pretty awesome, but I couldn't resist posting it here. The guy also built a SCUBA suit for his cat for $20,000.

For his...cat? Has this man ever attempted to put a cat in water?

That was one of my first thoughts too, but the cat seems pretty happy about the whole thing.

I imagine putting a cat in a SCUBA suit provides it with the same experience as going to a restaurant, having a steak brought out and then being told you can't touch the steak.

In the article he says something to the effect that the cat liked water -- before he went ahead with this.  That said: It looks like the cat's been fed a Quaalude.  (I've known a few domestic cats that love water.  They're rare.  But they're sorta fun in their oddity.)

I have a cat that will only drink running water. If she hears you showering without her, she'll stand outside the bathroom and yowl until you let her in so she can sit on the edge of the tub, watch you bathe and stick her head in for some water every once in a while.

Interesting. Our cat is fascinated by running water. Always runs in the bathroom when the shower is turned on, then jumps in once we turn the water off. We have to close the toilet lid when we flush because otherwise she would jump in the toilet bowl once the water drained! She doesn't mind drinking water from a dish though.

All I've taken from this thread is that cats are funny. I am rather pleased with this takeaway.
