For an Acadia? That's insane. It doesn't even look like a "cool/expensive" car.
The Acadia Denali's are very expensive. I looked at one of the stickers and it was in the low 50ks.
Different strokes I guess. If I had a $50K car budget I sure as hell wouldn't pick an unreliable domestic brand. For $50K I'd be rolling into the Lexus dealership or something.
Plus, with all the ongoing costs to insure, operate, etc, the SUV is a six-figure commitment. You could have a Tesla for less.
Did you do any math, or just spout bullshit reflexively upon seeing the words "SUV"?
(actual costs to run my "luxury" SUV, except I downgraded the mileage to 20mpg for the Acadia):
$50/mo insurance x 120 months = $6000
12k miles/yr /20 mpg * $3/gal * 10 years = $18,000
That's HALF of your asserted amount over 10 years, plus that's a total cost, not an SUV 'premium' (IOW, the Tesla will still cost the same if not more to insure, and it isn't free to "fuel" either). Did you plan on rebuilding the thing for $25k at some point?
Where the hell do you get your numbers?
