HBO CEO refers to customers as "addicts"

I wish this was an exaggeration…  I really hope when people see this (if people see it) it wakes them up to how they view companies..

I am an addict to TV/video/internet, but people really need to look at the cost of Cable tv.

Is it worth it? I think absolutely not. Hulu/Netflix + youtube, and I've got more video content to consume then hours of life left on this earth. Why would I want to pay +60$ or more a month for cable TV, plus 5-15$ a month television/movie packages...

and it's not all on demand yet either? WTF Is this, 2010? This is 2014. I get to -choose- when to consume.

Sports is less and less of an excuse for that cost. I think in 2015 even that's gonna become weaker.

I sincerely hope, and this is going to sound cheesy, that the WWE is a trend setter in this regard.  They are deploying the WWE Network.  $9.99 a month and you can get access to all pay per views, stream live events.  Now, *if* one orders the pay per views, this saves you money right there.

NHL, MLB, NFL do this already, but the cost is pretty steep.  Get me down to $10 a month and don't block any game then we'll talk of value.  Or better yet, let me pay for game that I want to watch.  I really wonder how that would do?  Of course, I'm also getting to the point where I don't care so much about sports -- but it is literally the only thing keeping us from removing cable.

It will also be interesting to see what happens with the whole net neutrality argument.

I used to love WW(F)E. Then they got beat up by the World Wildlife Fund and were forced to change the name/acronym. As a red blooded teenage boy I couldn't fathom big strong tough guys losing a "fight" to a bunch of greenie enviro pansies.

The producers couldn't have scripted that if they tried...oh wait, they probably do have a character for that somewhere...
