Hi all, I have a business phone number for my 1 man handyman business.

I've had the same number for 25 years, for the last 5 or so I forward my calls to my cell phone.

I still pay the bill of around 35 dollars a month for that number even though I don't have a landline phone in my house anymore, I just keep it because it associated to my business and it's online as my number and occasionaly an old old customer will call it as they have it on file.

Is there a way to have this number as a 'virtual number' nowadays... keep it and have it forwarded to my cell phone etc..?

  • Still kickin', I guess.
If you don't want Google all up in your business, there's always VOIP.ms. Currently free number porting for US numbers, 85¢/month to maintain the phone number, and 1.9¢/minute (0.9¢/min. inbound + 1¢/min. outbound) to forward calls to the cell, billed in six second increments. Good price to keep the lines open if you're looking at low volume usage.

Seems like a good time to send out a message to all your customers telling them your new number and inviting their business .

I use https://www.numberbarn.com/call-forwarding.

It costs $6/month.  Forwards all my calls, and sends texts to my email.  Some other cool options to check out.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
