When MMM Really Clicked For Me
« on: May 26, 2013, 04:14:57 PM »
I've been working 10 hour days for a few years now and never seemed to have enough time for anything I wanted to do. During this entire time, my fantasy vacation was essentially to lay around on a beach and do nothing (mental escape) or just to ready my large collection of books I don't have time for.

Then I realized the cost of these fantasies was $0. It was just the time spent working that made it impossible. But why was I working so hard? To pay for new cars, a big house, and wasteful spending on junk that seems appealing but never ends up getting used (see: not having enough time).

MMM pointed out that all I needed to do was stop spending money on shit I don't have time to use anyway. I can't believe I was too blind to see this one simple concept! Cut that out, work less, and enjoy laying around on a beach and reading a book for free.
