I'm always curious if the price of high quality vintage musical instruments will change during a recession.  This definitely happened during 2008 where there was a significant drop.

Oh God.  I hope my spouse doesn't see this.  Three guitars is enough.  (Plus a couple unplayed trumpets, an unplayed soprano, and a keyboard.)

I've yet to meet someone who owns at least two guitars who doesn't daydream about owning at least three more.

Constant state of “more than I need, not as many as I want”

I feel better knowing that my spouse isn't the only one constantly desiring more guitars!

On the positive side, his October birthday and Christmas are taken care of.  He used them both as the excuse for the new Gibson something something that is now in the basement.  It's pretty and he's happy, and I suspect it will be at least another couple years before he seriously considers a new one.  Unless they get super cheap due to a recession...

Ha, allow me to introduce myself...
I still have two guitars taking up space from my rock band days, but I don't play much anymore, in fact it's been three years since I picked one up.

Might be a good time to sell them, before the market is [potentially] flooded with people looking for cash to make some ends meet!

Then again, maybe that's instrument-market timing.  But if you aren't playing them, why hold on to them?

To give to my daughter, if she wants them. Only one of the two is valuable.
I have a lot of  semi-valuable items I've owned for decades that I could sell but dont, always been a bit of a junk collector.
Also see: procrastination.

Reverb.com is pretty great for unloading semi-valuable music stuff that accumulates over the years.  I made several grand getting rid of stuff that I don't use any more last year.
