Made a batch of brats and sour kraut for "lunches" for this week. Snacks are homemade trail mix (cashews, almonds, crazins, pecans, banana chips) and bananas.

I'm usually out the door between 5-5:30am, so I usually have a couple cups of coffee between wake up and the commute, then I eat my lunch before start time @ 7am.

We've been doing a half hearted Paleo diet, but it's more like low carb.

A frozen container of my famous 'trash' soup (chicken + veggies), leftover rice and butter chicken, leftover kale salad, an apple and a small bag of raw nuts.  Still have half a small loaf of homemade banana bread (made with coconut flour and shredded coconut, homemade applesauce, walnuts and dark chocolate)  - yum!

Banana-apple-cinnamon chia pudding for breakfast + thermos of coffee.

Tuna salad with avocado and lots of veggies for lunch.  Have some pistachios on hand if I'm still hungry.

I legit just laughed out loud.. thank you for that.

Today I brought a cup of cooked quinoa, topped with a homemade veggie red sauce with beans. cheap and filling! I just make a big batch of something on the weekend and separate into single servings for the week, last week was home made cobb salads!

I brought a roasted tomato and fennel soup (I made it on the weekend) and a kale/romaine salad with toasted pecans and some greek dressing.

I also have an orange and some chopped up cucumber and green pepper for a snack.

my standard work lunch is 4oz grilled chicken thighs, 4 oz baked sweet potato, ~1 cup carrot, ~1 sliced sweet pepper.
i also bring two 1oz bags of nuts in case i find i am unusually hungry, but i hardly ever eat these.

have some sardines and crackers stashed at work as well

actually need to get my oatmeal stash replenished at work since that is a much cheaper meal/snack.

Nothing! Work had a catered lunch for some visitors last Friday, and there was a mozzarella and roasted red pepper sandwich left after, which I promptly swooped up and popped in the fridge for lunch today. Easy, delicious, and free!

2 PB&J's made from four crusts of bread (ate one for breakfast @ work and then one for lunch)
20 Sunsweet prunes
1 orange
6oz carton of chocolate milk

Then....a giant FREE bowl of chocolate animal crackers appeared in workroom...so I gobbled up two giant handfuls of those!

Score.

Most days my mainstays are:
Turkey or PB&J sandwich
Yogurt
Hardboiled eggs (love the stuff that makes me fart so I can silently crap my pants around annoying people then quickly excuse myself from the conversation)
Sting cheese
Apples
Oranges
Bananas
White or chocolate milk

Keep a big bag of almonds at work too!

I love reading about what other people eat!  (Is that odd?!)

I have gluten free "spaghetti" i.e. spiralized courgette beef Bolognese with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese - in a separate mini container.  I had this yesterday too, and will have it again tomorrow and Thursday.  Friday will be catered at work.  All in, costs around £2 a portion.

Snack wise I have a home made fruit, yoghurt, chia seed and coconut water smoothie.

I forgot to prep anything last night, so this morning I whipped together a salad with fresh greens, avocado, feta, and sesame seeds. I have a basic olive oil/basalmic dressing to go along with it. Not bad for not planning ahead!

Salad.  Lettuce, steamed beets, radishes from the CSA.
Homemade salad dressing with lemon and orange from the CSA.
2 hard boiled eggs, 2 Tbsp sunflower seeds, a little bit of leftover shredded cheddar

For some reason I've been starving all day though.  Even after eating all my other snacks, like cottage cheese, apple, spinach balls.  I had to raid someone's chocolate drawer (I had approval).

I eat salad every day.

You all eat too much meat, kindly.

Salad-  today was kale, red cabbage, roma tomato, red pepper, clover sprouts, chia and flax seed w/ a balsamic vinegar and avocado oil dressing

Breakfast was a smoothie with strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, vega pre-workout energizer, agave nectar, coconut water and acai juice. Then, mid-morning was a sweet earth curry tiger burrito. Mid-afternoon snack was an orange. Tonight I will make some roasted red potatoes and zuchini with cilantro and maybe some fried tofu. The lady will probs want chicken on hers.

That sound too expensive for the common mustachian?

My awesome crockpot jambalaya and a lot of fruit! Banana, grapes, strawberries and blueberries, though I did not eat everything. Also I eat my oatmeal at stop lights while driving to work... bc my boss is an inefficient micro-managing freak that believes 9am meetings are actually efficient... who the hell has a meeting everyday the very minute you step in?

Me and WP (wonderful partner) are both enjoying post-employment. (I can't quite bring myself to believe the R-word yet.) But I've agreed to make myself scarce about once a week, usually Wednesdays. I think she likes me away to watch bad tv, or maybe she has a boyfriend, who knows. Anyway, I go out to libraries or cafes and work on my laptop projects. Picture of tomorrow's lunch attached.

(Also happy to report that we've normalized our grocery shopping to about $90/week for two. Not amazing by Mustachian standards... but we feel good about this progress. And we do eat well.)

I'll probably still buy a coffee or two though.

Another lunch taken from the office catering leftovers! I decided this was a buy nothing week, although my food stores at home are looking pretty low, and the slew of meetings in our office this week is saving me from too much oatmeal and eating down too much of my freezer meal supply.

Today for lunch its pesto pasta and half a chicken sandwich. Also brought white rice and some leftover spiral ham given to me by my mother for breakfast, and a homemade flat bread and an avocado that has been hanging around my fridge for over a week now for a snack. Going to be a good eating day!

Breakfast (I wait til I get to work to eat) - oatmeal with banana, cardamom and maple syrup.

Snacks - two bananas, an apple, some tangerines and some chocolate

Lunch - black beans and rice with sausage, and some leftover tequeños from my favorite Venezuelan restaurant in New York.

Today's is fantastic!

*I had half of a chicken, spinach, grilled hamouli sandwich with perinaise on it (I went out with coworkers Monday to Nando Peri Peri and only ate half my sandwich)
* A serving or so of White Cheddar Cheezits. We tend to keep 1-2 snack items on hand at all times.
*Pepsi
*A Beech Nut Fruities on the Go (banana, apple & strawberry puree) I bought a few of these for my goddaughter. She hasn't been over in ages so I am using it up before it expires. I have had them a few times when sick- they rock!

Snack: Banana at 3pm with a Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate ($0.12 a drink compared to my coworkers $2.50 starbucks small hot chocolate)

Two ham, egg & cheese "cups" (bake scrambled eggs/cheese in muffin tins with ham slices wrapped around it), yogurt, and two mandarin oranges. Not that exciting, but it's cheap and healthy.

For breakfast I had waffles I pre-made over the weekend and froze.  For dinner I'll probably make some bolognaise with leftover ground beef.

Packed:
Breakfast: oatmeal with cranberries & walnuts and almond mylk
Snack: mandarin orange & banana
Lunch: chicken potpie & kale salad with strawberries & walnuts

Lunch is a definite savings for me by packing a lunch. However, not sure packing my own oatmeal is saving me money. We have it quite cheap at work. I think I may buy oatmeal for breakfast but bring my own fabulous toppings from home.

Breakfast (I wait til I get to work to eat) - oatmeal with banana, cardamom and maple syrup.

cardamom & maple syrup sounds delish otter!

I brought two burritos today filled with rice, black beans, some spices, spinach, and salsa. Forgot to add cilantro and corn. I'm planning to put that in the remaining rice and beans and get at least one more lunch out of it.

The best way to ensure you bring lunch to work during the week is to make one or two meals on the weekend. I find that soups, burritos, stews, and one-pot meals are the best for bringing in and reheating.

Today it's chili and a banana.

I am single so usually on the weekend I make a big pot of soup/chili/stew and then divide in to containers and freeze. They are good for a few months and doing it once a week makes it easy but I try to mix up what I have on hand so I'm not eating the same thing every day. I probably have enough in the freeze right now to last me almost three weeks if I stopped replenishing it.

I do this also. I have around 6 dishes that are cheap and healthy and just keep rotating them. Luckily, I rarely get food fatigue.

This week's lunches have been spinach salads and blood oranges. Not the most frugal of meals but my body is craving them. And they're still around £1/meal.

I made a chicken salad last night, but then this morning I thought we were having the office lunch today so I left it at home. Unfortunately, my memory was wrong and the office lunch is actually tomorrow so I had no lunch. I ended up paying $91 (age 65 dollars, 7% growth) to Chipotle.
