Expensive, fuel inefficient, uncomfortable, and unsafe in comparison to newer designs. But also incredibly capable off road, simple, reliable, and serviceable in the developing world. One of the top choices for militaries, safari camps, miners, farmers, and others who want a true working vehicle.
They don't sell them in the US, but they are still available in Africa, Australia, and the Middle East. Not to be confused with the 200 series Land Cruiser which is sold in the US as both a Toyota and a Lexus. That is still a very capable 4x4 as well, but the versions sold in the US are loaded down with luxury options and lack the serious off-road options like diesel engines, extra fuel tanks, and differential locks.
