Website still shaky?
« on: March 27, 2013, 10:02:28 AM »
I'm living in Europe (UTC+2), which means that I mostly visit this website when most of you are asleep. Lately (after the migration) the website seems to be inaccessible for large parts of my day. Something between 9AM and 2PM (my time) is usually "no connection". Is it just me?

Several have had issues. Some say refreshing helps, I've found that isn't working for me. I've had both forum and site issues. From what I've read, might be worked out now.

There is an active thread with some troubleshooting tips here:

Clear your cookies, refresh your DNS and that should clear it up.

I'm afraid the server was literally unreachable, so cookies are irrelevant. DNS could have done it, but that should have only changed when they migrated. But that was pretty long ago and DNS caches rarely last beyond 48h. Besides - I've seen the website on the new servers before the outage, so the correct DNS entries have definitely made it to me.

Btw - I'm a web developer myself, so if this is an unsolved mystery, I can provide more detailed info the next time it happens (my DNS, Fiddler output, etc).

Yes, I was up late last night (I'm in the USA), and the server was literally down, completely inaccessible, for several hours.  :(

Not just the forum, but the main site, too.
