Trekking 750 Hybrid
« on: December 21, 2016, 10:05:03 AM »
My commute is roughly 8 miles and I've committed myself to biking to work anytime the weather is over 40... which is about 70 degrees warmer than it was here the past two weeks!

Anyways, I've never owned anything but a 'mountain bike' and so I'm not very educated on good distance bikes.  I've found this bike on Craigslist in my town and am hoping a few readers can tell me if this is a mustachian buy or if I'd be overpaying?  The rip in the seat seems fixable, yes?

I'm not opposed to spending more, say $2-300 if it will get me a vastly superior bike, but I thought this might be a good starter for a few years.

Thanks for the help in advance!

That is a solid deal for $95. The rack and fenders are a huge plus. I would jump on it ASAP, assuming it's the right size for you.

I suppose you could try gluing the seat back together but I would probably just look for a better one on eBay.

I'm 5'9"...  so I'm not sure.  (sorry, again I'm pretty new at this)

You could ask the seller for frame size. I believe that is or about a 1995 model year if you want to look up sizing info.
