Travelling the world blog recommendations

Any recommendations on travel blogs or books for a middle aged couple starting FIRE with a trip around the world? Looking for more practical advise type of blogs as opposed to nice pictures etc.

I like the “Let’s go exploring” series from millennial-revolution, the cost breakdown of each destination has been useful. I find the writing to be entertaining because I’m also an overly anxious planner

How do you plan to travel? Private boat? Cruises? Planes? Trains? Backpacking? RV? Months in each place? Weeks? Days?

At the moment it's still in the basic planning stage but it won't be high end and it won't be 'as cheap as we can. Right now my budget is about ~$100,000 for 2 years of travel. So I'd say no private boat and cruising just became even less attractive recently! So we'll be doing some flying but I'd like to use trains where possible as well have plenty of time to get places, I'm not opposed to renting a car or using buses. RV's also a possibility particularly in North America and NZ. Planning on good value AirBnB for accommodation otherwise and would like to spend at least a week in each stop (multiple stops in each country). Backpacking is not really desirable.

back in the day we used lonely planet books for traveling. they used to have options for food and places to stay based on price and quality. we usually hit some hostels for a few nights because they were usually cheaper and we got to mingle with other travelers. the hostels sometimes had rooms for married couples so we wouldn't have to sleep in the group room. fun times!

Here are some I follow that will hopefully get back to FIRE/travel blogging once the pandemic is resolved:

Permanent travelers, currently grounded:
https://www.nomadnumbers.com/
https://alloptionsconsidered.com/
https://www.millennial-revolution.com/

People with home bases who engage in extended travel (at least a couple months at a time):
https://www.physicianonfire.com/ (only just got started before the pandemic came, so not many historical travel posts)
https://rootofgood.com/
https://www.routetoretire.com/ (had been living in one place in Panama, but now back in the US)

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
