Transferring CAD to USD (large volumes)
« on: February 20, 2020, 01:08:50 PM »
US/CA citizen. US resident.

Objective: Have a brokerage account that can Norbert Gambit CAD -> USD and transfer the funds to my US bank. Preferably a broker which is mostly free and doesn't require a min deposit.

I understand services like transferwise exist, but at my volumes Norbert Gambit makes more sense. It appears all brokers in account will not allow me an account as im a non-resident.

Any advice?

Id prefer not to use them, it looks like they charge $10 USD per month even if you dont trade.

Interactive Brokers Lite converts CAD to USD on par and only charges a $2 fee. This is amazing. In this example using $20,000 CAD Transfer wise charges $150.

Again the online problem is the wire costs.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
