I have been tracking my expenses and income during the past 10 years in a spreadsheet. My spreadsheet uses the euro. However, recently it is getting quite complicated to keep my spreadsheet up-to-date. I have the following difficulties:
- I have income and expenses in multiple currencies. I have work income in dollars, side income in euros, dividend income and expenses in both. I receive this income/pay these expenses on/with accounts that are in the correct currency. In my spreadsheet, however, I convert everything to euro using the dayrate.
- I travel quite often for work, and consequently, I have work expenses that are reimbursed. I have not figured out how to deal with them w.r.t. my expense tracking sheet. These expenses show up in my graphs, but they do not represent how I would spend money...
Does anybody have solutions for the above? Is there software that supports multiple currencies and multiple countries, preferably automated?
