I have a colleague that is putting 100% of their money every 2 weeks in this fund.  They are 36 years old.

Another option they have (amongst many others), is the SPDR S&P 500 ETF.

Compare / contrast?

Well, you should be able to do the basic analysis yourself. If I am finding the right stuff from a quick Googling:

The iShares is obviously a lot more diversified (large, small, midcap, international, bonds) expenses are 0.31%

SPDR is large-cap stocks only, mirroring the S&P 500 expenses are 0.11%

iShares from Blackrock is one of the better funds that you could choose, as far as funds managed by non-Vanguard entities. Beyond not lumping them in the same shitty category as M-L, G-S, and other crappy financial companies, I have nothing to say on the subject.

It's not a -terrible- decision. Might not be the best one though. YMMV, do your own research, etc.
