What were the bills?  $1MM in 100 dollar bills would weigh over 200 lbs.

I think its more like 20 lbs. Would still be a nuisance to carry around though

And did you declare the cash at customs?

Yeah all the legal stuff was handled before my departure. I don't know exactly what it weighed, but probably somewhere around 30 lbs, as Royale pointed out. And no, the idea of absconding with all the money in the foreign country never even crossed my mind, even though my colleagues all joked that it was nice knowing me and they hoped I'd stay in touch from whatever beach I landed on ;-)

3.5 million for a client....  still clocking interest in my trust account and reminding me of the power of compound interest.

You're right - but I can blame ask.com.   http://answers.ask.com/Hobbies/Antiques_and_Collectibles/how_much_does_1_million_dollars_weigh

In my college days I was desperate enough for money that I went on a drug run with my brother from KY to NYC. My job was to drive and to hold the money. It was 13K.
I was scared the whole time but once I was in I couldn't back out. Most of what happened is a blur but counting out that 13 K is very clear.
